Something very strange is going on at the pond. Waxer the turtle swam by this morning, all puffed up like he just won “Best Shell” at a beauty contest. He told me there’s a new reptile hanging out at the north end.

Her name? Crissy. Crissy Crocodile.

Apparently, she’s got shiny scales, a long smile, and teeth so white that the ducks are calling her “Pearly.” Waxer says she’s from “Okee… Okee… something,” but then he got distracted chasing a dragonfly and forgot the rest. Typical Waxer!

Curiosity and Excitement

Anyway… I’m curious. What if she’s a long-lost friend? What if she’s faster than me in the water? What if she thinks my favorite log is… “too mossy”? These questions swirl around in my head like leaves in a gentle breeze.

Tomorrow, I’m heading to the north end to meet her. I’m practicing my cool, casual look so I don’t seem too excited. (Note to self: stop grinning like I swallowed a catfish.)
